WEST SIDE STORY

Branding, design, photography and creative direction across print, marketing and online graphics for West Side Story.

We’ve been working with Mixed Voice on their designs for several years. They are a local amateur theatre company with a professional outlook. Ordinarily, they produce a Christmas Show and a full-scale musical each year in Norwich.

As costumes were a late addition to their creative process, we wanted to create promotional images that still attracted attention even if they were in ‘plain clothes’. We’ve always been fascinated by powder photography and this project was the perfect excuse to try the technique out with some of their dancers.

We created a series of ‘jumping’ photography, some with powder and some without. These were then used in our programme design and for general press-release and marketing strategies.

As part of this project we took headshots for each of the cast members and the creative team. By taking the headshots ourself we were able to ensure that the brochure looked uniform and sleek.
